Brownie and Daisy Troop
Activities
We will work with each troop individually to complete as many projects
as needed. Pick and choose which elements your troop would like to study and
work on in our studio.
 | 1 . Make It with Clay |
We will have raw clay available, and the necessary tools for each Girl Scout
to make a pinch pot, ceramic tile, wind chime or hanging ornamental decoration.
*Cost: $12 per person, includes 1 finished project,
studio time, kiln firing and paint for project. Project will require more than
one visit to complete.
 | 2. Coil Up |
We will have raw clay available and the necessary tools for each scout to
make a functional piece of pottery using the coil and pinch method. This project
would be best if combined with the Make It with Clay project
Cost: $4 additional per student if combined with the
Make It with Clay project. $12 per person if done separately. Includes 1
finished project, studio time, kiln firing and paint for project. Project will
require more than one visit to complete.
 | 3. Negative and Positives |
Create a three-dimensional sculptural object using common household items,
including cardboard, Styrofoam, newspaper, wallpaper paste and miscellaneous
sculptural items
Cost: $10 per student, includes 1 finished project,
materials provided.
 | 4. Art That’s Me |
We will talk about sculptural art through a cultural perspective and look at
examples of different heritages. Based on the lecture create a three dimensional
art piece using elements from the lecture.
Cost: $10 per student includes 1 finished project,
materials provided
 | 5. Time for Tiles |
Decorate one of our pre-made bisque tiles using stamps, patterns, sgraffito
(decorating on clay by scratching to the surface below) Instructor will show
samples of various decorating techniques using common household items including
a toothbrush, a paper clip, stickers, soap, sponges and other items.
Cost: $8 per person, includes 1 finished tile, studio
time, and kiln firing of project
 | 6. Grin and Glaze It |
| Decorate bisque ware (fired and unglazed ceramic clay) Ceramic items
would include a Plate, bowl, or mug. |

| Cost: $13 per person--includes 1
finished bisque item, kiln firing, paint and use of studio materials. |
 | 7. Stamp art |
We have a variety of stamps and papers, we can show you how to make your own
fun greeting card using a number of creative techniques! Seasonal projects also
available!
Cost: $8 per person includes supplies to make 3 fun
cards.
 | 8. Tie Dye |
Create fun Tie-Dye t-shirts. Several fun project ideas.
Cost: $12 per person--Includes the t-shirt
 | 9. Messy Art and crafts |
Looking for a place to do a fun, but messy project? No more glue
and glop to clean out of your carpets or off kitchen counters. Tell us about
your project, we might even be able to provide you with some supplies for a
small additional fee.
Cost: $20 per troop for a 2 hour time slot.

Go Along Lectures: Owner, Charlene Ridlon has
degree in Art from St. Cloud State University. She is versed and comfortable in
presenting topics as they relate to the hands on portion of the class. These
offerings are free when you register for any other class and are offered, if
requested, as a lead in discussions for projects. Lectures are very short and
geared to the age level of students participating!
All Around the Town-Learn about three-dimensional art in your
community.
Handle with Care: Learn How to handle clay with care.
Instructor will give demonstration on the proper handling and care of raw clay
material.
Clay History and origins: Learn about where clay comes from and how
it was used by ancient ancestors.
Sculpture: Learn about sculpture, discuss different types of
sculpture and how sculpture relates to everyday life.
Fuel and Fire: Visit Art As You Like It and get a tour of the
studio, including the kiln room and short information on how the kiln works.
Also have an opportunity to talk with instructor about opening a business and
working in the creative arts fields
Line, design, color and shape: Learn how to use these basic art
elements and incorporate them into your project. Lecture includes samples and
photo’s of finished items.
